Simplicity in using the technology

Technology can be used by user in a simple manner, according to the comfort by settings the settings according he/ she wants.

Examples:
1) Users can create their own GIF. when not comfortable or satisfied with available GIFS.
2) Font and design of the device can be set accordingly.
3) Wallpapers can be set.
4) Pictures can be edited, using different filters.




Activity 1- Real Users

1. Sight : Virtual Assistants : Virtual Assistants can be used by blind or visual impairment for tasks or Activities. Some of the activities:
1. For Calling
2. Web Search
3. For Texting or Messaging.
4. For video calls or Facetime.


Example:
Alexa and Siri : Alexa is a virtual Assistant Developed by Amazon and Siri is a virtual Assistant Developed by Apple.
Activities it can perform :
1) Can play music.
2) Make a to-do list
3) Helps set alarms
4) plays audio files
5) Can read information about weather, traffic and sports.
2. Taste : A device can be created called Digital lollipop. Where a huge Lollipop with different flavors like strawberry, apple, grapes, orange, peach, etc. each flavor will have a function related to it. Like just licking strawberry flavor you call someone, apple flavor can be used set remainders, orange flavor can be used to search online and etc.

3. Hearing : if a person is having a partial hearing disability in any one of the ears, Windows 10 has a function that helps to hear more from the ear with disabilities. Just turn on mono audio, and your left and right speakers will play the sounds. Select the Start button, then select Settings> Accessibility > Audio, and then switch on the Mono audio toggle.


4. Touch : A touch device similar to iPad can be developed with a keyboard with braille letters where user with impairment can use the braille keyboard to use the device. They type in notes or search online using braille keyboard.



5. Smell : A smell gun can created with different fragrances like lavender, wood, citrus, and tropical . The user can smell and identify the fragrance and understand the task. For example for making a payment the smell can be citrus.



DISCUSSION:

Q1) You need to know to Turn on the computer by clicking the power button. After Switching on the computer , log in by entering username and password. Ways to use the pointer on the laptop screen. Understand Icons that represent the files, applications, apps and commands. Double-Click to open a file, app or a program.

Q2) A computer user must have knowledge how to make use of available search engines like google chrome or Microsoft edge to get information.

you need know the sources from where you can get information depending upon your need.

Q3) We can ensure that computer can assist us travel by the existence of various GPS Tracker apps like Google maps , Google Earth.
Google Maps : Offers users satellite imagery, aerial photography, interactive street maps, real-time traffic updates, guides people to their required destination or route, plans the route for user via foot, car or air with the time of reach.

Google Earth : It gives the users 3-D representation of the earth. The users can see the cities and landscapes from the different angles through the satellite images and aerial photography. The users can explore the earth by just entering the location/ address .

Q4) Some requirements of Computer interface are:

Color : You change the color of the task bar of the computer. Set the wallpaper of the computer as per your preference and color combinations. In google , you can change the color or insert a wallpaper at the homepage.

Font : You adjust the font size as per your eye comfort. Font design also can be adjusted / changed.

Task bar/ desktop page : you can place/insert the apps, programs, games, files as per your convenience at the taskbar/desktop page.

Sticky notes can placed at the desktop page to set remainders.

Q5) Wallpaper : You can set and customize your own wallpaper for Lock screen and home screen.
Font and Font size : You can adjust the font size and the font design as per preference.
Arrangement : You arrange apps page by page as per your preference and
convenience. You can set widgets for some apps like calendars and time and alarms.
Q6) No , Everyone has their own ways and styles to use computer and prefer to control computer in their comfort and convenience.
Q7) I want to control my computer by changing the font size, changing the wallpaper , using sticky notes on the desktop to set remainders. by arranging important file on the desktop while others in the document section.

Activity 2 : On screen Recorder

Installation and Experience with NVDA
The Moment I installed NVDA the automated voice started reading the text I point or the were pointer was placed. I opened a word-file it started reading the content. The best was when I shutdown or switch On it reads something. It was easy to surf and navigate random documents without seeing. NVDA screen- reader is extremely beneficial.

Microsoft Accessibility

1) Microsoft Soundscapes : It helps people to build richer awareness of their surroundings. It helps build confidence to get around. Other navigation apps have many steps. 3-D audio cues are used to enrich the awareness and gives a new perspective to look at the world. It also helps people in navigation. Relevant for people with hearing deficiency.

2) Color Filter : When people find hard to see what's on screen , color filter function can be applied. The color filter changes the color palette of the screen that helps distinguish things. This relevant for people with vision issues.

3) PowerPoint translator : subtitles can be presented in your presentations by selecting Subtitle settings in the slide show tab.
Any language can be spoken like French, Arabic . check whether the voice languages that PowerPoint can recognize and select the one you want.
subtitle language can be used to see which language power point can display as subtitles. This is the language of the text that will be shown to your audience. This is relevant for the deaf and hard hearing.

4) Microsoft Editor : it is a AI- powered service that helps making writing easier for people with disabilities for around 20 languages. It can be used for editing word, email, post or articles . it underlines the errors / issues it finds.

Activity 3- Mobile Accessibility

Q1)
Communication:
Calls and Text : makes communication easier with friends and family, emojis to express feelings, and helps keep contact with closed ones.
Video chat: helps to communicate virtual face-to-face from anywhere around the world.
Emails: makes official/professional communication easier.
Web search:
Google Chrome : used as a search engine, stores data with the help of cloud computing.
Camera: We are able to capture the photos and videos which will help us to keep in memory of the things
Social Media :
Instagram : It is a photo sharing social network where we can meet a lot of people on Instagram and we can share our pictures.
Facebook : The usage of Facebook is that we are able to meet people around the world. And also we can create groups and share some useful information's to the people in the group
WhatsApp : WhatsApp communication is the fastest way to communicate because there is no long process. It is an End to End Encryption and it is safe to use. We just need to save the person’s number and we are able to communicate with them.
Snapchat : Snapchat is a social network which is into AI with many face filters and we are able to capture our faces with many filters given by the snapchat

Q2)
Health : Helps people keep track of their day to day steps. Helps to maintain a healthy diet(BMI), body measurements, and Keep track of the calories. Some of the apps are I Health My Vitals, Lose it, Lifesum.
Travel : it helps people to travel like booking cabs, checking the directions to their home or friends. There are apps to book cabs like ola, uber and careem once we book the cab they get our request and they will come to us in minutes. And we can use google maps to check the directions. It is the easiest way to explore the city once we type the destination. google maps helps us to show its direction.
Business : Helps employees of enterprises to keep in contact with clients as well as each other, to always be informed about every changes in the economy.
Online Shopping : People can do purchase the grocery items, electronic items and mobile accessories through ecommerce stores and it is really helpful to the people who are lazy to go supermarket or go out for purchasing.

Q3) Tablets:
Online learning or Remote learning: helps students ,Children and Teachers to attend online sessions and webinars on a large screen. And complete their assignments , tasks and activities.
Games : Children's can play games on their tablets which will refresh their minds and it helps to ease their anxiety and depression. And the games can help in communicating and it increases our confidence while talking
Drawing : Ordinary Tablets are not suitable for drawings. But Some tablets like Galaxy Tab S7 are specially developed for drawing.

Tablets used by Autistic Users: Children on the autistic spectrum benefit from applications (or "apps") that target specific skills and provide positive reinforcement for achievement. Some apps are Proloquo2Go, Endless Reader, Otsimo,etc.

Tablets are useful for Musicians : They can use the tablets to display lyrics and sheet music, play video lessons or even use them as a portable mixer, MIDI controller or backing track player. Apple iPad is the best for the musician because it is a high end high quality item that will cover almost everything. Some apps are like Garage Band.

Travel:
->booking a taxi:
1) Open app store on your smartphone.
2) Download and install like Careem, hala or Uber Taxi app.
3) Open the app and sign up.
4) Select your destination.
5) Select type of vehicle.
6) Select time of arrival.
7) Make online payment using debit or credit card and download the payment receipt.

Call:
1) Open your smartphone and enter your password.
2) Open App or Play Store and look for any video calling app.
3) Download and install the app, let’s say Skype, Botim OR IMO.
4) Sign up, create an account.
5) Add your contacts (family and friends)
6) Start a video call and enjoy.

Both Taxi Booking and Calling requires a app to be developed. A webpage is required to make it easier for some users. Google Accounts or Email Accounts are required for login. A electronic Device like Smartphone , Laptop, desktop, tablets etc is needed to use the app.

A keyboard can be developed with braille letters. Where users can type. Also Computer/Laptop keyboard keys can have braille letters carved on the keys .

Hardware/Software required by someone who has physical impairment to perform a task:
Voice command function can be used as the user cannot hear and see.

To turn on Voice command , follow these steps:

1.Open your device's Settings.

2. Click Accessibility, then Click Voice Access.

3. Click on Use Voice Access.

4. Start Voice Access by saying a command, such as "Open Gmail."

Hardware/Software required by someone who has cognitive impairment:
Immersive Reader: using a immersive reader that s present in OneNote Learning Tools. Immersive reader helps increase readability of content of documents present in OneNote.
This tools are designed to support students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. it helps makes reading easier.
Themes and fonts can be changed as per ones comfort to make reading easier.

Hardware/Software required for someone with multiple impairments:

1) Screen Readers: Screen readers helps people with vision impairment or have weak eye sight. it helps the people with impairments access applications or web pages via audio or touch. Screen readers read aloud the information present on the screen and users can work accordingly. Some screen readers can be also used with braille display.

2) Subtitles : Subtitles can be added in different languages as per the home country’s language or international language English.
